Houston Mayor Chats About Relief Effort

Originally scheduled to come on my Sept. 3rd show to talk about Houston's technology issues and plans, Mayor Bill White kept his word and called into my show. The topic of technology, however, did not come up as Hizzonner gave listeners an up-to-the-minute overview of our city's progress with Katrina victims.

He did point out that communications were key to keeping people in touch with each other and processes flowing. And he did promise to come back on my show soon to discuss his plan's to launch a citywide WiFi network and other tech innovations.

Too bad H-Town doesn't already have widespread WiFi networks, especially around Reliant Park and the GRB Convention Center. It sure would have come in handy during this time of caring.
